This is an archived official preparation reference, not a claim that the 2024 vacancy window is open. Match your current divisional notification before applying.
Job profile / कार्य विवरण	Indicative role: passenger ticketing, fare and concession checks, commercial records, passenger assistance and applicable booking/refund duties. / टिकट बुकिंग, किराया-रियायत, वाणिज्यिक अभिलेख और यात्री सहायता।
Pay level, basic pay and salary basis	Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk: 7th CPC Pay Level 3. Pay fixation and admissible allowances determine actual salary. This is not the Level 6 Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor post.
Previous Grade Pay / पुराना ग्रेड पे	Previous Grade Pay ₹2,000; current Pay Level 3.
Minimum education / न्यूनतम शिक्षा	The cited departmental notice defines eligibility by serving cadre, pay level and service; it does not prescribe a separate uniform educational minimum in its eligibility clause. Do not substitute the educational rule of open-market RRB/GDCE recruitment for this LDCE route. Confirm with the current divisional notification.
Eligible staff, service and age conditions	Eligible Commercial/Operating staff in Levels 1–2, with at least 2 years continuous regular service in the specified levels and Secunderabad lien, as on 31 July 2024. Office staff such as General Assistants/office Junior Clerks and Accounts/RPF staff are excluded. B-2 medical fitness applies with the notice’s separate PwBD provisions.
Official exam pattern / परीक्षा पद्धति	Archived notice pattern: objective OMR, 110 questions including 10 official-language questions; answer any 100, first 100 attempted evaluated; 120 minutes and one-third negative marking. Written test weight 85, service record 15. Qualifying requirement 50% written and aggregate, with the stated SC/ST relaxation for reserved vacancies.
Official syllabus / पाठ्यक्रम	General English and grammar; basic mathematics; general and Railway knowledge; ticket checking, concessions, UTS/PRS, parcels, goods and catering; ATVM/STBA/YTSK/JTBS; reservation and refund rules; consultative committees; D&A, HOER, leave and pass rules; relevant Railways Act provisions; Rajbhasha.
